Only one more week in may and it doesn’t look very good. I won’t be able to get to $2000 for the month unless something big happens this week (unlikely). That is disappointing.
I have been experimenting with outsourcing the SEO for a couple of the sites. I think this will work well, as long as I can keep money coming in. I paid $1200 (total) for 3 months of SEO work to rank a fairly tough term, that will earn a bunch if I get it close or at the top. I also signed up with a different company to pay $250/month on another service that looks promising, but we will see. This one is for my secondary site, and a very large keyword.
The brand new site I talked about last week is starting to rank, which is awesome. The technique to put out a PR as soon as the site launches is pretty cool. It hasn’t earned any money yet, but it is still early. So far -$564.05 for the site.
The dropshipping site is progressing. I signed up 2 suppliers and am in discussions with another 2. Once these have signed up, I am going to place all their products on the site – make it live, and then try to get more suppliers. For this site I am -$1304.75 to launch and it will cost about $40.32 a month. I can probably start selling in two weeks or so…
One thing that I have had to deal with is doubt. I can’t explain it, but my natural reaction is to hesitate when doing action that will push the dropshipping site forward. I am pretty sure it is doubt/fear, it is like my brain thinks that as long as the site has not launched it isn’t a failure. Once it launches though, it can fail. It is weird because I can actually feel/recognize the hesitation each time I am going to take another action. A part of me says “better to do it later…” I really want to push forward and get selling soon, I just have to fight with myself.
On a positive note… all of my sites have been gaining (free) visitors this month week over week, with the exception of the largest one. Which is pretty cool. I am definitely heading in the right direction.
P.S. I am getting better with WordPress. I was able to make a custom plugin and include composer information so that I can install it easily with composer require blah/plugin on each of my sites.
