Ok, so now that 2014 is over. Lets wrap up what has happened.
Starting with income! I have now been averaging $2,427.93 per month for the past 6 months. A lot of that is the result of a killer month totaling over $3500. Then I got smacked with the PBN penalty and have been working my way back up.
Currently I consider my “money” sites as these three:
- main site that produces most of the income – have had it for 3 years
- another site that I just can’t seem to get the audience that I wanted, not sure how or if I should try to fix it
- a site that was launched within the last month
I think the new site has a lot of potential, but will take some effort.
I just started a recurring order for blog posts for sites 1 & 3. This will give me a published post every other week for each site. The strategy of the posts is to keep the site producing content, while I build the “articles” which make me money. The articles take quite a bit of time to produce, and so I can’t rely on doing one each week. Although I should. In fact that should be one of my resolutions for this year – Money article every other week.
I have a lot of irons in the fire!
Project 1 – Code name “WTF”:
Currently I am working on a personal project that does a few things. 1. it provides me with the impetus to learn how to build web applications, and 2. I learn vim. This project isn’t necessarily a “money” site, but has potential. I am doing it because I want to learn. If it earns money, all the better!
Project 2 – Code name “Zeffro”:
Once WTF is done, I should have the knowledge to build this app (one of the motivators for tackling WTF). I feel like this project has a lot of potential, and will be used to add functionality to sites 1 & 3. The hope is that the additional functionality will create a “desire to return”, and increase products purchased through affiliate programs. I think it has a lot of potential when combined with an authority site like 1 & 3 are.
Project 3 – Code name “TL”:
This is an authority site along the same lines as sites 1 & 3. I have already invested a lot of time/money into the site, I just haven’t published anything yet.
That is it for the wrap up. I should have another post shortly with my goals for 2015.
